The Cycling Academy is a top British team and program developing the next generation of elite road riders from our base in central Scotland. Our leadership includes ex-professional riders, coaches and specialists who support athletes journeys' to the top level of the sport. Our international connections and mentors  span from grass roots to World Tour. In 2023 we became the first Scottish team to win the British U19 Road Race Championship. The team is run by a combination of volunteers and professionals.

We create a strong cohort of riders with ambition and capability to pursue an elite road racing career.  . We expect all Junior riders to target British Junior Road Race Series as a minimum commitment quickly progressing to UCI Junior races.  Our riders compete in the UK and Europe including Alpine Stage races and Cobbled Classics.

Our Director of Sport is James McCallum, former British Circuit Race Champion, and Commonwealth Games medalist. James coaches riders from keen amateurs to world class professionals and spends a lot of time with the squad training and racing.

Current riders are all coached by James and Mark Young, but applicants may wish to continue existing relationships with coaches. In these cases The Cycling Academy will ask for coordination with external coaches, around team training events and race calendars.

Our 2024 race program will include the British Cycling Junior Series, UCI Junior Races and other opportunities to race abroad, tailored to the abilities of our squad.

In the 2023 & 4 off-season we held 2 training camps and rode together almost every week focusing on many of the teams skills which are new to riders graduating from Youth racing. We've seen significant benefits from this work. Our Juniors also benefit from training with a strong U23 Group.

Our partners for 2025 season include Ekoi, LeCol, OTE Sports, Pedal Power and Arnold Clark,
